Footwear veteran Bimma Williams left a job at Nike in July to pursue his new venture full-time. Claima Stories is a new podcast that highlights the stories of Black footwear professionals. Meanwhile, footwear brands have been pushed to confront their internal diversity problems head-on. The sneaker world is intrinsically bound to Black culture. But when it comes to the industry, representation of that impact is often hard to find beyond brands outward messaging, marketing campaigns or celebrity collabs.
